House, House, House

It seems like all we are doing lately is talking about houses, looking at houses online or calling our realtor or bank! We are a little antsy because, well, I live in a cracker box! So...I have put up a poll over on the right side- vote if you will so that I can see what others think about buying a house in this economy.
Dustin now is thinking about building with his brother as our contractor. My problem is- I don't want to build just to have it be too small for when we have another child and then build again! Also, he wants horses but we can't afford a huge lot and a new house! And, we can get more for our money by buying an 1990's house...I am so in love with the house in Dayton that I posted a while ago, but now Dustin thinks it's too far away...Men- always changing their minds (isn't is really supposed to be us women that do that?!?!)
For gosh sakes...if I make it through this decision without going crazy it will be a miracle. I seriously don't get to sleep until 1am because I worry and contemplate EVERYTHING!

Changes

Hey everyone,
So there are a lot of new, small changes around our house.
Ryker is getting very big. He puts everything in sight into his mouth. He has also started cereal, as of last night. He just let it all drip out of his mouth. We'll try again though...so fun!
Priceless picture

He is also off of his prevacid for his acid reflux for now. We're just testing to see if he will be okay without it. So far so good. He went to the doctor for his 4 month check up yesterday and is growing great. He got shots, but they went better than last time. He got antibiotics for his chronic chest congestion and cream for his itchy head so he doesn't look like I threw him in the rose bushes anymore! The doctor warned me that Ryker will probably be crawling before 6 months. OH GREAT! All I need is an even messier house, but I am looking forward to him being less frustrated. He just wants to move and be independent. Dustin and I are still looking into houses. Scary Scary Scary but so exciting! We are going to go look at the house I posted about earlier this weekend. Could be wishful thinking and we are still very much undecided but it doesn't hurt to look (although I do tend to fall in love with things that I can't have...)
That's all for now, hope everyone is doing well and enjoying this somewhat warm weather!

Home Sweet Home?

Hey everyone,
So we are quickly outgrowing out two bedroom house we rent from my family. It has been so fun living next door to Grandpa and living in beautiful Benson but we are all feeling a little cramped. We have been looking at property and houses around and have decided that we want to move just North of the border into Idaho. It's a lot cheaper and so pretty! So anyways, we probably won't be buying in the next little while but eventually that is our plan. Just had to show you all the pretty house we found on 3 acres (we want horses, a shop and room to grow).
It is in Mink Creek, just north of Preston in beautiful Strawberry Canyon. Everytime we go through there I tell Dustin it is where I want to live. Now I am a little hesitant because it is an hour away from everything and everyone we know... We'll just have to see.
It is so us, all wood throughout and just cozy and cute. The landscaping needs some help and we'll add a shop and garage and horse pasture and garden.
Anyways, just had to tell you what was going on with us because I am super excited to maybe begin this new chapter.
Lots of love,
Ashley, Dustin and CRAZY Ryker

Where we live

Hi everyone,

Just thought that I would write a quick blog about where we live and how much I LOVE it here.
We live in Benson, just outside of Logan and everyone thinks that it is in the middle of nowhere. Well, there are so many reasons why I love living in the country and I'll show you a few.

The drive to my house is peaceful. The five minutes I spend on airport road gives me time to relax before I get home. The best part is the view though. Here's the proof, although it is much prettier in real life.

The second thing I just love about our house is the fact that we don't share with anyone. We have a house, modest as it is, but we love our privacy and freedom. I enjoy having a yard and all my fun plants. I go out a pick my strawberries every morning and will soon be picking my raspberries.
I canned 5 pints of strawberry jam this morning and am VERY proud of myself because it was my first canning experience on my own. Turned out well and hopefully some of you will be receiving some soon.

Our garden is blossoming (Thanks to grandpa Jay who lives next door, it's actually his but we get to steal yummy food).

My rose bushes are out of control. This picture is from about a week ago, but they are now covering all the plants. I love pretty plants that I can't kill.

The view from my front porch is great. I can look and see the mountains and fields without houses everywhere. I am really excited to be able to take our baby to see the animals including the ducks that sometimes come to the little pond near our house.

I wish that you could see the view out our back window at night. We can see all of Logan and Smithfield. I wouldn't give up our view for anything, which is funny because we are not even on a bench.

There are about a million more reasons why I love where we live and about a million reasons I don't like my house itself but I wouldn't trade it for anything right now. We won't be in this house forever but little does the husband know, we'll live in Benson forever if I have my way.

Let me know about why you love where you live. Home is my favorite place to be and I'm sure that is true for most of us.

Hope you enjoyed this blog, sorry it is so long. Soon to come- hopefully names that we like for the baby (see my baby names on the right side to see the names I (Ashley) like...vote please) and also soon to come.... pictures of my ever expanding belly :)

Lots of Love,
Ashley, Dustin and Baby Boy
